On behalf of the Organizing and Scientific Committee, I am pleased to invite you to participate in the 10th European Federation of Audiology Societies (EFAS) Congress which will be held June 22-25, 2011 in conjunction with the 6th National Conference of the Audiology and Phoniatrics Sections of the Polish Society of Oto-Rhino-Laryngologists and Head and Neck Surgeons. In addition, the 2nd International Congress of Young Scientists and Students will be organized just prior to the Congress. The meetings will take place in Warsaw, Poland and will be hosted by the Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing.
The topics of the Congress will include audiology, physiology and pathology of the auditory system, otology, psychology, speech therapy, education, acoustics, psychoacoustics, biophysics, and state-of-the art technology applied in audiology. The scientific program will include topical keynote addresses, round tables of specific interest fields, contributed oral presentations, and poster sessions.
The 10th EFAS Congress builds on a series of biennial conferences. The last time an EFAS Congress that took place in Eastern Europe was in Prague, Czech Republic in 1997. It will be a great opportunity for clinicians and researchers from this region to once again join together with participants from Europe and other continents in contributing new results of many interesting audiological studies.
The EFAS 2011 Congress will be hosted in Warsaw, Poland’s largest city and its capital. Throughout the centuries, many events crucial to the development of Europe took place here. Therefore, in addition to scientific sessions, we will do our best to provide you with many opportunities of exploring our magnificent city and its historical monuments. We hope your schedule will allow you to attend the Congress, as we are eager to share this unique experience with you.
We look forward to cordially welcoming you in Warsaw in June 2011.
Prof. Henryk SkarżyÅski, M.D., Ph.D.
President of the EFAS 2011
